And so it starts…

Today is the very first day of this website & blog and so it all looks rather bleak and empty. Over time I hope it’ll become filled with people, images, facts and memories. It will be a labour of love. I’ve been looking into my mother’s family history for several years and have become completely immersed in these people, who are mostly dead, naturally.

My late mother, Esmé May FRANCIS, was born a RIDOUT, one of eight children. Her parents were Bathonians, natives of the city of Bath in Somerset.  These pages will gradually become populated with her family and all the other families that married in over the decades. I sincerely hope that strangers, stumbling in here by accident or design, will be drawn in and find something of value.

Hi. Thanks Claire 🙂 I’m pretty new to blogging but not family history. Thought it would be a good way to get some stuff down ‘on paper’. Now I have to make time to write something! Cheers, Karen.

  3. Welcome to the Geneabloggers family. Hope you find the association fruitful; I sure do. I have found it most stimulating, especially some of the Daily Themes.

May you keep sharing your ancestor stories!
